About

Light Gay As Hell, also known as Light Gay As Shit I Would Have Gone Crazy, refers to a series of posts about Death Note protagonist Light Yagami being homosexual because of his lack of lust for Misa Amane. The catchphrase was often paired with a frame from the manga of Misa in lingerie greeting Light at the door, saying, "Light!" with Light responding, "Misa." The image and caption combo was routinely posted on Twitter / X in the early 2020s. By late 2024, internet users likened the repeated use by various accounts to Engagement Bait and began mocking the copycat tweet via exploitable usage.
