In early July 2025, Douglas posted a tweet criticizing Japanese video game designer Hideo Kojima for giving the name "Fat Man" to the villain in the video game Metal Gear. The tweet prompted X user @capybaroness to post the opening chapters of Douglas's book in which he describes the aftermath of an "orc war."
