On August 15th, 2013, PewDiePie became the most subscribed YouTube channel of all time, briefly losing the position to the YouTube Spotlight channel later that year. In 2018, PewDiePie launched the Great Subscriber War campaign to maintain a subscribe count lead over the YouTube channel T-Series, which eventually overtook him in subscribers in April 2019.
